Lambs at Cannon Hall Farm

Lambing is the favourite time of year at Cannon Hall Farm, where we see the triumph and tragedy of lambing season with daily activity in our roundhouse maternity unit.

In 2026, Cannon Hall Farm is running an extended lambing season - which means you’ve got a better chance than ever of seeing a live birth.

If you looking for things to do with kids in Yorkshire, join us and help us welcome our new lambs (and hopefully see a brand new life brought into the world).

Our farmers – who have been made famous thanks to their appearances on Channel 5 TV show Springtime on the Farm and The Yorkshire Vet – will be in the roundhouse every day answering your questions.

Your farm admission ticket includes entry plus:

  • Introductions to the new arrivals
  • Daily talks from our farmers
  • Sheep and ferret racing and meerkat feeding sessions.
  • Access to our amazing play areas (including the soft play).
  • Bottle-feeding demonstrations (subject to animal need)
  • Tractor rides

Lambing Times

We’ve extended our lambing season for 2026 which means we are lambing in January, February and April.

Lambing Live!

We’d encourage you to come and enjoy the unique views from our roundhouse viewing gantry but if this isn’t possible, make sure you check out our Facebook page where we will be hosting daily lambing live streams at the peak times - and you can even buy tickets for special night shift lambing live broadcasts.

Fun on the Farm!

As well as all the action from the roundhouse you can expect a fun-packed family day out. Farm admission to Cannon Hall Farm includes access to our spectacular reptile and mammal houses, our inclusive outdoor play areas and our newly refurbished indoor soft play which now includes a role play village for younger children.

If you’ve never visited us before, we’d highly recommend it.

Our Farmers

Our farmers – who have been made famous thanks to their appearances on Channel 5 TV show Springtime on the Farm and The Yorkshire Vet – will be in the roundhouse every day answering your questions.

Want to bottle feed a lamb?

Although you can watch bottle feeding demos during our lambing event (at times when our vulnerable lambs need it) our farm admission visitors do not get the opportunity to join in the activity.

You can purchase a VIP Animal Experience where visitors in small groups can join our farm team behind the scenes in the roundhouse and help care for the vulnerables.

There is an additional charge for this experience and it has to be booked in advance online – you can read about it here.
